2. Silvasophikum at the Almtal Forest School

We live in a time of great transformation and reorientation. The forest is sometimes highly acclaimed, but many are not aware of the economic decline of forestry.

I invite all foresters, hunters, landowners and everyone who feels real responsibility for the forest habitat and its diverse tasks to a four-day retreat in the Almtal.

In a small group with a maximum of 20 participants, we want to "sylvasophize". That means thinking together about the past, present and future of the forest as a living space. About paths, detours and wrong turns in forest use. The focus of the event should not be on high science or on established forest and environmental policy, but practitioners (and utopians) who are deeply involved in forest management should exchange their thoughts.

The experiences from my forest life, 45 years of teaching at the Fast Ort and 40 years of managing a rural forest property of 50 ha and the operation of the forest school for 30 years, will be the guideline for the seminar. If possible (depending on the weather) we will learn from the forest in the forest.

The topics are worked out using methods of imparting nature experiences (forest education). I see the experiences, opinions and questions of the participants as an important part of the event. The relaxation, the necessary deceleration and the exchange of experiences will not be neglected.
