Ecologically considerate, but varied staged! [continue reading ](javascript:void())Although the Alm originates from the “Tote Gebirge” mountain range and flows into the Traun river near the village of Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting, the hiker is encouraged to walk against the direction of the river towards the mountains. Through railroad lines that accompany the path for the most part, this makes it easier for the guest to explore comfortably and ecologically even longer stretches of the path. The many "Almwellen-Liegen" along the whole way invite to short breaks. Over 50 information boards in the form of question marks and call signs report on the pleasure highlights from cuisine, nature and culture and thus allow an insight into the Alm Valley. Along the "Genuss am Almfluss" long-distance hiking trail, guests can also enjoy a variety of themed rest stops. Hanging chairs with a view of the mountains, massage facilities for relaxation or, as in Scharnstein, an active rest area for children to let off steam. Other highlights along the way include the Cumberland Wildlife Park between Grünau and Almsee, the Kronawettwehr power plant in Pettenbach, the open-air museum and "Tempus" - Museum of Early History in Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting and the Eggenberg brewery in Vorchdorf.
