# Gesperrte Wanderwege und Mountainbike-Strecken

Closed hiking trails and mountain bike routes
=============================================

Ebensee has an incredibly **large hiking and biking area**. Unfortunately, due to weather influences, some trails are affected again and again, which is why they have to be closed for a **shorter** or **longer** period of time.

You can find out which ones are affected here.

**UPDATED:**
 The following routes are currently not passable:

\- The **ascent to the Eibenberg from Rindbach** (hiking trail no. 427) is closed from 28. 11. up to and including 7. 12. 2022 due to logging work.

\- The **brine pipeline path** is still closed in the section Ebensee from the center of the village to the so-called "Am Einlass" (about 1 km). The reason is a dilapidated house, parts of which could fall onto the path and the hikers. However, it is possible to walk on the asphalted municipal road "Ischler Straße" to the junction to the inlet and then use a stairway to the brine pipeline path.

\- The **walking path on the left side of the Rindbach after the former Rindbach** mill to the forest road near the Rindbach waterfall is closed for an indefinite period. The mountain slope is very loose due to erosion and rock fragments keep coming off. Alternatively, you can walk exclusively on the right side of the Rindbach to the Rindbach waterfall and further (e.g. Gassel stalactite cave, E4 to Offensee).

The municipality of Ebensee in cooperation with the Federal Forests, the torrent control and alpine associations are trying to get the various routes open again as quickly as possible and make them accessible.

Ebensee is an excellent hiking and biking region. However, the many possibilities are not always so easy to assess on the available tour maps (whether easy or difficult, etc.).
