myVisitPass - Online Contact Tracking Platform

Safety first in COVID time!

Contact tracing is not only a legal requirement, but also an indispensable system for tracing and interrupting a chain of infection. In order to protect all residents, guests, businesses, organisers and associations and to make tracing easier, Upper Austria Tourism has decided to introduce a uniform and digital solution for contact tracing.

Easy usability and absolute data protection-compliant system processing were particularly important to us. You can store it on your smartphone and use it again and again.

To the myVisitPass

How do I start MyVisitPass for the first time?

  • Option 1: Open the website in the browser of your smartphone or click on the "myVisitPass" logo! 
  • Option 2: Scan the QR code on the right-hand side of this website with a QR code-enabled photo app on your smartphone and open the link.
  • Option 3: Scan the QR code displayed in a company with a QR code-capable photo app on your smartphone. 
  • Option 4: An employee in a company enters your data in the operator app and then sends you an email with the invitation. 

Following the registration process, all you have to do is follow the instructions, enter important data (first name, surname, telephone number and optionally email address and you are ready to use.
We ask you to enter the data truthfully and not to give any invented names, address etc! Only together can we prevent a cluster formation and try to contain the virus! 

What solution is used and how does it work?

The solution we selected and used is called "feratel myVisitPass".

The programme works as follows:

  1. Open the website on the smartphone
  2. Save the website (APP) as a favourite/bookmark on the smartphone's home screen or desktop.
  3. The website and bookmark are saved on the smartphone and can be called up quickly and easily at any time.
  4. When entering an establishment, you scan a QR code with the "myVisitPass" app, which is either visibly displayed on the table or in the room, and thus check in.
  5. When leaving an establishment, you should "check out". This can be done either by scanning again or directly via the app - it is helpful, but not a MUST!

What are the advantages of the programme?

  • Data protection is our top priority! All basic data is only stored on your smartphone, check-in/check-out processes are stored on the servers of the solution provider, whereby this all takes place in Austria and is completely DSGVO-compliant.
  • The businesses or associations cannot view any data. Transmission to the authorities in the event of a COVID-19 case takes place in encrypted form.
  • Your "myVisitPass" can be used in all regions that work with the same system.
  • The operation is very simple: after briefly setting up and saving a bookmark called "myVisitPass" on the smartphone and briefly entering prescribed data, the data is saved on the smartphone - you are ready to go!

As a company, you are basically free to decide how you want to record contact persons. However, with a digital solution it is much easier and faster for all involved - as well as with the help of a region-wide, uniform solution in Upper Austria.

You will be provided with the contact tracking platform FREE OF CHARGE by Oberösterreich Tourismus GmbH - not only the landlords, but also any catering establishment. The system is called "Feratel myVisitPass".

If it has to go fast: Generally, the business uses the WebClient website for administration and the "checkVisit" WebApp on the smartphone. The guest uses the "myVisitPass" app on the smartphone.

  1. Request access data from the tourist office for the WebClient at
  2. Log in and carry out the guided activation process
  3. Set up the "CheckVisit" operator app on your own smartphone(s).
  4. Create the QR code as desired in the WebClient
  5. Print out the QR code and place it visibly on the table.
