The forerunner of today's parish church, the "Konradikapelle", was probably named after the then bishop of Passau. The same was a much-visited pilgrimage church and was called "Kapelle zum Herrigott in der Wies". Next to the chapel, where the tower stands today, was a healing Bründl with the statue of "Saint John in the desert". In 1785 the Konradi Chapel was chosen as a branch church of Viechtwang. The parish area (now the municipality area) was formed from the Kirchhamer localities Steg and Edt as well as from the western part of the village of Dorf belonging to the parish Viechtwang. ### The church: The core of the current parish church of St. Konrad dates from the late Gothic period. The two-bay choir with a 5/8 end and three-parellel rib nets as well as the late Gothic sacristy door are remarkable. Up until 100 years ago, the church had a roof turret attached to the roof. In 1910 the tower with an eight-sided pointed helmet was built, the nave was extended and the sacristy was added. The addition was made as Cyclops masonry with flysch sandstone from the area. The high altar is late baroque, the pulpit and side altar were built 100 years ago, as were the glass windows in neo-Gothic style. In 1999 the Tyrolean organ builder Pirchner built a mechanical parapet organ with 9 registers. The cemetery is said to have been laid out around 1856. It used to go around the church.
