It is mainly used as an arthouse cinema. Additional lighting with automatic control was installed in the stage area and the stage technical equipment was renovated. A small buffet was built into the theatre foyer and a bar was set up on the first floor.The municipal theatre, which is over 150 years old, is the centre of cultural life in Gmunden and an architectural gem. It hosts a series of events of international calibre. The stop is in the immediate vicinity. Numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) or via Gmunden to the Salzkammergutbahn towards Bad Ischl, Hallstatt and Bad Aussee **By bus:** OÖVV bus lines 507, 505 or 533 as well as city bus lines from Gmunden, Gmunden Rathausplatz stop **By bicycle:** The Stadttheater Gmunden is also very easy to reach by bicycle. The Traunviertel Tour, the R4 Traun Cycle Path and the R 2 Salzkammergut Cycle Path pass by Rathausplatz and the Traun Bridge, approx. 200 metres away. **By car:** A1 motorway: From Munich/Salzburg or Vienna/Linz – take the A1 Regau exit – B145 to Gmunden, also from Bad Ischl on the B145 – directly into the town centre. **Parking in the town centre:** Underground car park approx. 200 metres away, numerous parking spaces in the city centre (short-term parking zone during the day).
