Rare orchid species can be found in the area around Laudach Lake and the surrounding moorland. Laudach Lake, which is well served by hiking and walking trails, is one of the warmest mountain lakes in Upper Austria and is therefore very popular with swimmers in summer. Laudachsee is a small mountain lake, beautifully situated between Traunstein and Katzenstein. In summer, it’s the perfect place to cool off after a hike. A walking trail leads round the idyllically situated lake through shady woodland, offering repeated views of the towering Traunstein.
