The "Maria-Hilf" Chapel on the Buchberg hill north of Lambach is a domed central building and can be seen from afar. It was built by Abbot Maximilian Pagl after the foundation stone was laid in 1717. The floor plan has the shape of a seven-pointed star with slightly curved sides, in which a circle is inscribed. The dome shows the coronation of Mary surrounded by a wreath of angels. The seven refuges are depicted in the fields of the lower dome zone: Above the entrance Maria helps in dungeon distress, then clockwise Maria helps with physical infirmities, Maria helps in danger of fire, Maria helps in distress of war, Maria helps with water hazards, Maria helps with contagious diseases, Maria helps when there is a risk of thunderstorms. In the middle of the altar you can see the replica of the Maria-Hilf picture in Passau. **Monthly pilgrimages to the chapel** Every fourth Friday of the month at 7.30 p.m. there is a pilgrimage to the Maria-Hilf-Kapelle. The starting point of the pilgrimage is the anniversary square in front of Lambach Abbey.
