Nativitiy Scene of Viechtwang
Birihub 8, 4644 Scharnstein
In the year 2000 a small homemade crib was made in our house.
At this crib we built and carved eagerly, so she grew from year to year to a 7 square meter handsome landscape crib.
There are representations of the most important stations of (Herberg search, birth, flight to Egypt where Mary went to Elizabeth in the mountains and the Epiphany)
In this nativity scene are many replicas and sights of our beautiful place Scharnstein such. the ruins of Scharnstein, Scharnstein Castle, the Viechtwanger Church and our parents' houses.
When admiring the crib you can see at first glance that it is our beautiful home.
Our view of the mountains of the Dead Mountains is reflected in the background image of the crib.
The figures are themselves carved and some of them are moving, others show the customs and craftsmanship of our region and some of the characters are very similar to our family members.
Even in the dark, the nativity scene looks very interesting when the windows of the houses light up.
Our nativity scene is always open on Sundays from 2 pm to 6 pm (December 26, 2019 to February 2, 2020 (Maria Lichtmess) or after or by telephone agreement!
