Yet even today, female poets in Austria still face challenges in finding publishers and venues for their art. This event marks Bachmann’s anniversary by offering a platform to two contemporary female authors—in keeping with Bachmann’s own feminist commitment. In her writing, **Isabella Krainer** (born 1974 in Carinthia) combines political language with the vivid imagery of dialect. Her books *Vom Kaputtgehen* (2020) and *Heul doch!* (2024, both published by Limbus Verlag) are as incisive as they are poetic. **Siljarosa Schletterer** (*1991), with roots in Tyrol, Lower Austria, and Switzerland, writes poetry shaped by nature and physicality. Her collections *azur ton nähe. flussdiktate* (2022) and *entschämungen. körperkantate* (2025, Limbus Lyrik) prove that poetry can bark—or whisper.
