The book focuses on the traditional building culture of the Salzkammergut region. The editors have compiled and synthesized a wide range of expert knowledge on the renovation of existing buildings. For a variety of reasons, the traditional building culture in the Salzkammergut region has been preserved longer than in other parts of the country. Five home visits form the narrative framework of the book. Each of these homes represents a specific theme of architectural culture, which is presented, explored, and explained in the book.
