Schmecktakuläres Almtal

The "Schmecktakuläres Almtal" association is a voluntary cooperation between Almtal innkeepers, Almtal farmers and regional food processors who are committed to quality and regionalism.
The products used by the innkeepers of the "Schmecktakulares Almtal" association are specially marked and made visible on their menus.
Only members of the "Schmecktakulare Almtal" may label their food and their dishes (or their products) with this logo.
Together, these hosts of the "Tasty Alta Valley" organize specialty weeks several times a year with a focus on "regional products".

Traditional and innovative preparation methods are to be demonstrated and perfected in special cooking workshops led by excellent Austrian cooks. Particular attention is paid to rediscovering and offering long-forgotten specialties of regional and Austrian cuisine.
The preservation of old or special pet breeds, vegetables or other rural products have a high priority in the product selection.
All hosts of the "Schmecktakulare Almtal" are members of the AMA gastro system.
The award of the AMA gastro seal ensures the use of domestic raw materials. The clear and transparent labeling of regional
Products in gastronomy is an important step in the communication between guest and host. Provided with the AMA gastronomy seal, Austria's innkeepers guarantee to serve dishes made from high-quality local raw materials.
Quality and origin assurance are an instrument to consciously commit yourself to fresh, regional foods.


NEW cooking magazine:

"FROM AND WITH NATURE" - WITH 24 RECIPES THROUGH THE SEASONS

On 24 January 2023, the new cooking magazine was presented at the Romantikhotel Almtalhof and accompanied by Jörg Leithner and his team with a wintery 3-course culinary menu. The diversity of the region is also reflected in the cooking magazine. Seasonal food from the region was transformed by the restaurateurs of the Schmecktakulären Almtal, according to the cycle of the year, into schmecktakuläre 3-course menus. Anyone can cook the seasonal dishes.

The new cooking magazine is available at all partner businesses, at the Almtal Tourist Office, at the Gmunden Tourist Office and online at online at schmecktakulaeres.almtal.at for € 5.00.
