Benedictine women - women who love life
We are women who are looking for a worthwhile life and have discovered that the fullness of life can be found in God. In our paramentics we create textiles for worship service.
The origin of the community goes back to Father Norbert Schachinger, a Benedictine of the Kremsmünster Abbey. From an oblate community the order was created in 1949 with currently 81 sisters living in Austria and Brazil.
Our activities are diverse. The focus is on the pastoral and social-charitable areas. Our sisters are currently working
The parament workshop, in which a large variety of liturgical vestments are made, is known far beyond the country's borders. With the work of our hands we have made a significant contribution to the worthy celebration of the liturgy for 40 years. The creative design of the garments or textiles and the quality in the execution are a major concern and daily challenge for us. Unmistakable individual pieces are created in cooperation with our customers. The designs of artists also get their concrete form in our workshop.
Guided tours for groups are only possible Monday to Thursday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. We ask for timely registration (4 weeks in advance).
