The Feuerkogel, Upper Austria’s most sun-blessed point, invites you to enjoy an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Salzkammergut with a superb 360 degree panoramic view to Dachstein and the lake region, cosy Alpine lodges and lots of sporting opportunities!
Easily accessible from Ebensee am Traunsee via the Feuerkogel cable car at 1600 metres altitude, which takes you right to the centre of the luxury mountain village. Hike, feast, or laze around in the sunshine there to your heart’s content!
In the summer time hiking fans in particular will find the best opportunities, and hikesof all difficulty levels. A trip to the Alberfeldkogel viewing point and the impressive Europe Cross ,which takes around an hour to walk to, is just one of the many hiking paths which has fascinating views and which await you on Upper Austria’s loveliest and sunniest high plateau.
The sporty among you can continue on a hike to the Großen Höllkogel, or even cross the impressive Höllen mountain range. Even without any knowledge of the area the Höllen mountain range can be conquered without any risk – just book one of the best trained mountain guides and get a programme tailored made to suit your fitness level.
Guests who aren’t so taken with exercise can make use of the four mountain guesthouses (at winter season three) to have a stop-off and be indulged with typical hospitality and regional delights!

The ski lifts are in operation as long as there will be enough snow.

Arrival by car
Use the route planner to find the fastest way to get to the Feuerkogel cable car in Ebensee by car.
Convenient and free parking. Parking spaces for cars and buses are available directly at the Feuerkogel cable car valley station.
Use of the parking spaces is free of charge!
Arrival by train
Travel comfortably by train to Ebensee in the Traunsee holiday region. Stop at the train-station "Ebensee Landungsplatz" and continue with Salzkammergut-Shuttle (route 40, only available if ordered in advance) to the valley station of the Feuerkogel cable car.

At the top of the mountain, you will always need a motorized drive plus an accompanying person.
