WaveShaper The.Riverwave

With THE.RIVERWAVE you will get the unique opportunity to go surfing all year round far away from any ocean in the middle of the Alps in Austria. The way it works is based on a physical principal called hydraulic jump. We do not need any extra source of energy to create THE.RIVERWAVE. We only need the river's natural source of energy - water and flow. With two connected but individually adjustable flaps called WaveShaper, we can produce Europe's biggest artificial river wave. Channelling the water of the river Traun and manipulating the flow with our WaveShaper, we can produce a 10 meter wide and up to 1.5 meter high surfable standing wave, ideal for landlocked surfers trying to maintain their surfskills or hone their skills for their next surf trip. Moreover, it is also ideal for firsttimers or people only wanting so suck in some surf vibes! With the WaveShaper we have the opportunity to adjust the wave's face to different skill levels, so everybody from firsttimers all the way up to pro level surfers can enjoy THE.RIVERWAVE!

How to surf THE.RIVERWAVE

The way you surf THE.RIVERWAVE is simple. Similar to going skiing, you come by during our operating times, buy yourself a day pass (we also offer different tickets) and go surfing all the way till dusk. If you have and bring your own surfequipment, that's perfect - if not, don't worry, we've got you coverd! You can rent the entire surf equipment at THE.RIVERWAVE ranging from safety equipment to soft- & hardboards, wetsuits and booties. So the only things you really need are a pair of swim trunks/bikini and a towel - we also provide a warm shower for colder days in the year!
