Almtal Fairytale Summer 2026
Magical fairy tales and mischievous stories between day and night
featuring storyteller and musician Momo Heiß (D), Christa Gabriela Schmollgruber (A), Sabina Haslinger (A), Mehmet Dalkilic (TR/A), and Helmut Wittmann (A),
Music: Franz Bernegger, bagpipes & vocals (A)
After a welcome in front of the wildlife park’s visitor center, the tour heads to the Herzogstand and on to the storytelling area, which offers a sweeping view of the Tote Gebirge.
Sabina Haslinger begins with the story of how to stretch out a day. Christa Gabriela Schmollgruber knows what happens when you fall in love with the scent of a handkerchief. Momo Heiß shares her story through words and sound. Mehmet Dalkilic and Helmut Wittmann jointly narrate, in a lively Turkish-Austrian dialogue, the fairy tale about the art of awakening fate and pulling the thorn from the lion.
If the weather is nice, the event will take place outdoors in the wildlife park; if it rains, it will be held in the hall of the Citizen Science Center in the wildlife park.
Tip: Be sure to bring warm clothing appropriate for the weather!

Fairy tales and legends are shining stars in the sky of the human imagination.
They tell of heroines and heroes who take action and tackle problems with determination. Especially in a time marked by uncertainty, conflict, and rapid change, they offer inner peace, clarity, and confidence.
Anyone who listens to a fairy tale enters a realm where the impossible becomes possible: dragons are vanquished, mysterious gates open, and new paths unexpectedly unfold.
While these stories depict fantastical worlds, even as you listen, you can sense how deeply this otherworld is interwoven with our everyday lives. Here, a wellspring of creative solutions bubbles up.
It opens up new perspectives. Opportunities arise where obstacles once stood.
These stories invite us to see the world through new eyes and to discover the beginning of a new path in every crisis. In this way, imagination nourishes happiness and creates a new reality.
