The works of the Scharnstein ceramic artist Melanie Bartholme range from small objects to room installations.

They can be seen in the workshop in Mühldorf as part of the nationwide “Days of the Open Atelier”. Melanie Bartholme is inspired by found objects: driftwood from the banks of the alpine pastures, rusty metal workpieces, animal horns ... By using these found objects, the process of their passing is stopped and diverted into the creation of something completely new: The shape, color and surface of the found objects as well as Melanie Bartholme's assumptions about their history are the starting points for the spontaneous design ideas. The malleable material clay is used to take up the character of the found objects or to add a new free form.
