District administration office
Since 1945, the former ‘Hotel Bellevue’ has been the seat of the district administration of Gmunden.
In 1865, the ‘Dr. Feurstein's Spa and Bathhouse’, which had existed at this location since 1862, was converted into the Hotel Bellevue with the addition of accommodation facilities. In 1872 and 1877, it was significantly enlarged by adding extensions and another floor. The Hotel Bellevue had its own steamboat pier, and a hotel bus was available to guests for every arriving and departing train. In 1939, the National Socialist rulers seized this traditional hotel and set up the NS district office / district office of Gmunden there. In 1945, it was converted into a district administration office. The building has been restored several times to date and, in recent years, renovated to meet modern expectations of an office. Most recently, a security gate was even installed.
