Your visit to the "Grüne Erde-Welt" (green earth world) becomes a nature experience of a special kind!
You will be welcomed into a heart and soul-opening, light-filled, wood and glass-dominated architecture. Opened at the end of September 2018, this 9,000 m2 visitor center combines workshops, show and adventure areas, a large store with clothing made from natural materials and certified organic and natural cosmetics as well as a vegetarian-organic bistro under the roof of the "Grüne Erde-Welt".
The eco-company from the Almtal manufactures high-quality solid wood furniture, mattresses, bedding, women's fashion and cosmetics - exclusively from natural raw materials. In the "Grüne Erde Welt", there is much to be discovered by you with all your senses: fragrant natural materials, a show production, the Senses Room, the Green Earth House, the Sleeping World, 13 planted atriums, an organic vegetable nursery, greenhouses, an inviting outdoor area with different habitats such as meadow orchards, a wetland biotope, flower meadows and a cosy connoisseur's garden with a children's playground.
You have the opportunity to explore the "Grüne Erde Welt" individually or get to know it as part of a bookable tour, where you can also experience the production of natural mattresses and upholstered furniture up close!

• 13 illuminated courtyards in the building convey the feeling: "from nature to nature" - with different types of vegetation, from the maple Eschen-Schluchtwald over the Pannonian downy oak forest up to the Zirben-Lärchen-mountain forest.

How to get to Grüne Erde-Welt in Almtal:
We recommend travelling by public transport!
By train:
From Wels station, take the Almtalbahn (line 153) towards Grünau im Almtal to the Viechtwang stop.
From there, a hiking trail leads you to Grüne Erde-Welt (walking time approx. 30 minutes).
Numerous connections from Wels station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) to Linz/Vienna or Salzburg and to Passau (line 150).
By bus:
OÖVV bus line 480 Viechtwang - Scharnstein - Pettenbach - Inzersdorf (- Schlierbach) - Kirchdorf/Krems; Steinfelden ehem. Kastlwirt stop
From there, a hiking trail leads you to Grüne Erde-Welt (walking time approx. 10 minutes).
With the Salzkammergut Shuttle Service Route 70 from Scharnstein (Mühldorf railway station) or from Pettenbach (railway station) to the Grüne Erde-Welt stop, please call the taxi centre at least 1 hour in advance on 050-422 422 to book.
Arriving by bicycle:
Coming from Wels or Linz, take the R11 Almtal Cycle Path via Pettenbach to Viechtwang. Or via the R 4 Traun Cycle Path or R6 Römer Cycle Path, or from Passau via Vöcklabruck and Schwanenstadt to Lambach, via the Traunkraftwerk Lambach and to Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting in the direction of Vorchdorf Einsiedling. Continue via the cycle path briefly on the R13 Traunviertler Cycle Path to the R 11 Almtal Cycle Path via Pettenbach to Viechtwang.
You can also take the cycle path on the Traunvierteltour from Gmunden via St. Konrad and Scharnstein to Viechtwang.
From Viechtwang, follow the signs for the hiking trail (also a cycle path) to Grüne Erde-Welt.
By car:
Westautobahn A1 from Linz and Vienna or on the Inntalautobahn A8 from Passau - Wels - Voralpenkreuz-A9 towards Graz - next exit Ried/Traunkreis - Voitsdorf - Pettenbach - on the B120 towards Scharnstein - turn off towards Steinbach am Ziehberg - after approx. 500 metres, the entrance to Grüne Erde-Welt is on the right.
Westautobahn A1 motorway from Munich - Salzburg - Regau motorway exit - take the B145 to Gmunden, also when arriving from Bad Ischl - continue on the B120 via Scharnstein towards Pettenbach - turn off towards Steinbach am Ziehberg - after approx. 500 metres, you will find the entrance to Grüne Erde-Welt on the right.
