The Benedictine monastery Lambach, built in the 11th century
Discover "the Marienkloster an der Traun", walk in the footsteps of Benedictine monasticism. The monastery was founded in 1056 by Bishop Adalbero and is approaching its 1000th anniversary. The Romanesque frescoes in the west choir date back to the 11th century, otherwise the Baroque style predominates. The monastery on the river has experienced many good years, but also some bad ones, but Lambach Abbey has survived to this day.If you would like to find out why the world-famous frescoes were lost for centuries and only rediscovered by chance, you are cordially invited to take part in a guided tour!

Guided tour times: Easter Sunday to October 31, Wednesday to Sunday at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we ask you to book in advance.
Visits to the museum without a guided tour via ticket machine, daily from 09:00 - 17:00
