A station with many stories!
The Traunseetram connects the district capital of Gmunden with the municipalities of Gschwandt, Kirchham and Vorchdorf and is an important pillar of regional commuter, school and tourist transport. Thanks to the merger of the former Traunseebahn and the Gmunden streetcar to form today's Traunseetram, you can travel from Vorchdorf to Gmunden main station and from there to the rest of the world.
But for now, just hop on, try it out and explore the region with the Traunsee streetcar!
Gmunden's town center, bathing facilities, steam jetty, Grünberg cable car, restaurants, Salzkammergut shopping park and Gmunden train station (ÖBB) are now easily and quickly accessible from the surrounding communities.
At the Seebahnhof stop, you can easily transfer from the Traunseetram to the Citybus of the OÖVV line 511 or use the Park & Ride facility to transfer from your bike or car.
You can also change to the Salzkammergut Shuttle Service Route 10 to get to a mountain tour from the eastern shore of Lake Traunsee or a hike up the Grünberg.
The valley station of the Grünberg cable car is also in the immediate vicinity, making the Salzkammergut treetop path easily accessible. Also the leisure facilities Seebahnhof and Weyer am Traunsee as well as the Grünberg cable car landing stage of the Traunsee shipping company.
