Advent in the wildlife park

The Advent market in the Cumberland Wildpark with enchanting Christmas atmosphere.

As the event season comes to a close, we’re once again looking forward to welcoming a large number of visitors to the Grünau Wildlife Park.
Once again, the first weekend of Advent—featuring “Bratwürstl Sunday”—will be all about the pre-Christmas season in our natural setting.

Two days of Advent cheer!
This year, the gates will open on Saturday, November 28th, at 10:00 a.m., and visitors can shop until 7:00 p.m.
On Sunday, November 29th, we look forward to welcoming visitors between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

A great opportunity to find regional Christmas gifts

Many select vendors will once again showcase their crafts and artwork. These range from handmade woodturnings and bags to liqueurs, cookies, pottery, felted items, and much more.

Just like last year, a blacksmith will be forging live at his forge during the market and will also offer his works of art for sale. Live music, roasted chestnuts, and punch and mulled cider stands will create a festive atmosphere and fill the air with the scents of the season. In keeping with “Bratwürstl Sunday,” this delicacy will take center stage. This weekend, don’t miss the chance to take a stroll through the wildlife park, which may already be showing signs of winter. On both evenings, open fires, lanterns, and torches will create a very special atmosphere in the wildlife park.

We recommend traveling by public transportation!

Take advantage of the OÖVV bus service, which runs several times a day between the Grünau train station and Almsee. The schedule is coordinated with the arrival and departure times of the Almtalbahn and other bus connections.

By train: from Wels Station, take the Almtalbahn (Line 153) to Grünau im Almtal;
Numerous connections from Wels Station to mainline trains on the Westbahn line toward Linz and Salzburg (Line 101)

By bus: OÖVV bus lines 533/534 Gmunden – Grünau im Almtal – Wildpark – Almsee (Please note the connections marked SSK)

The Upper Austria Leisure Ticket for €24.90 for the whole family is alsoa great option!

To use the Salzkammergut Shuttle Service Route 60 from Grünau im Almtal Station to the Cumberland Wildpark stop, call the taxi dispatch center at least 1 hour in advance at 050-422 422 or order via the otaxi app. - This service is not available while regular OÖVV bus service is operating!
