How to get to the Goldener Hirschen in Gmunden:
We recommend travelling by public transport!
by train: from Attnang-Puchheim railway station take the Salzkammergutbahn (line 170) to Gmunden; numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) in the direction of Vienna/Linz and Salzburg.
From Bad Ischl and the Salzkammergut you can also take the Salzkammergutbahn (line 170) to Gmunden.
by Traunsee tram: coming from Gmunden railway station (P&R) or from Vorchdorf or Engelhof railway station (P&R), the Gmunden Klosterplatz stop is in the immediate vicinity of our hotel.
by bus: OÖVV Citibus lines 511, 512, 513 stop Gmunden Klosterplatz
by Traunstein Taxi Route 10 and 11 from the Klosterplatz stop to Umkehrplatz or Franzl im Holz and vice versa. Call the taxi centre at least 1 hour in advance on 050-422 1691 or order on the otaxi app.
on foot: From the centre (Rathausplatz) of Gmunden to our house it is five minutes along the lake and over the Traunbrücke bridge to the entrance in Linzer Straße.
by bike: the R4 Traunradweg and the Traunvierteltour lead past the Traunbrücke and are therefore in the immediate vicinity of our house.
by car: Westautobahn A1: Coming from Vienna/Linz or Munich/Salzburg to the Regau exit - B 145 to Gmunden - Gmunden bypass in the direction of Gmunden Ost towards the centre, just before the traffic lights at Klosterplatz you will find the entrance to our car park on the right.
Coming from Bad Ischl and the Salzkammergut, you have the choice of either driving through the centre of Gmunden or using the aforementioned Gmunden bypass.
Please only use the parking spaces provided for this purpose, the remaining parking spaces in the centre of Gmunden are short-term parking zones subject to charges.
