Snow in Your Neighborhood!
Start of the winter season: December 5, 2026
Kasberg in the Almtal likes to call itself the most centrally located ski resort in Upper Austria’s Salzkammergut region—right in the heart of Austria.23 kilometers of superbly groomed slopes, covered with snow from the mountain down to the valley thanks to 120 snow cannons and snow lances, the spacious children’s ski arena with 3 conveyor belts, and the mascot Bruno Kasbär guarantee winter fun and wonderful skiing.
From the attractive valley station—featuring covered entrances and exits, a cozy restaurant with “Kinder-Gaudium,” a ski school, a sports shop, service, and rentals—the 8-person gondola takes you right into the heart of the ski resort.
The freestyle park near the new Fun-Jet is located at 1,600 meters above sea level. In the park, snowboarders and skiers gather to jump over the two giant kickers, test out the smaller jumps, and glide over the rails, the wall, and the box. The park is groomed and shaped daily, making it not only the largest but also the best freestyle park in Upper Austria.
There are also three marked snowshoe trails and a wonderful winter hiking trail available.
The numerous mountain huts on the Kasberg—such as the Hochberghaus with its hearty “Pfandlgerichte,” the Sonnalm, and the Sepp-Huber-Hütte on the mountain, as well as the 8erl at the valley station—are just the thing for cozy breaks. All three mountain huts are located right on the slopes and delight visitors with local cuisine, lively hut fun, and sunny terraces. The 8erl is the perfect spot for après-ski!
A family-friendly atmosphere, personal service, and fair prices! These are the benefits of a winter vacation in the Kasberg ski area. The hotels and accommodations—most of which are family-run—are well-connected by the ski bus and easily accessible. Additional activities besides skiing, such as snowshoe hikes or a visit to the Cumberland Wildlife Park, offer families a welcome change of pace during a week-long winter vacation!
The Kasberg ski resort is very easily accessible by public transportation!
