Room with a View
a project for the European Capital Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024
The room, designed by the Austrian design studio LUCY.D, is intended to inspire guests to find out more about the Salzkammergut. The design is based on what already exists and fits together
sensitively into the inventory. Sustainably designed objects and regional materials define a contemporary design language typical of the Salzkammergut. A colorful cross-over of design, craftsmanship, new and old.

In order to expand the project, Lucy.D invited 3 international design teams to each design a typical Salzkammergut theme and an object for the guest rooms. The resulting themes and design objects were board cuts, traditional costumes and the associated fabrics, rush grass, mirror objects, salt or glass and stone.

Karl Stöhr is a beer sommelier, beer importer and operator of the legendary beer museum in Pettenbach. The former stagecoach station is a restaurant, hotel and museum site. The newly designed room with a view has an authentic flair with its wooden ceiling, a wonderful view of the natural landscape of the Alm River and is completely quiet.

Jutta and Paul Pangerl are warm people and energetic hosts. Your open house offers a cozy holiday with lots of family connection. The completely redesigned and newly renovated room with a view consists of two rooms - for social evenings together and then a private retreat with a huge terrace.

With star chefs Mike Suesser and David Daxner, the Gmundnerberghaus is getting a culinary upgrade with a sensational view over Lake Traunsee directly onto the Traunstein. The penthouse in the former Alpine club house is a room with a view and can accommodate four people. Casual, honest and rough, just like the new owners.
