WALDNESS® is relaxation and recreation for body, mind and soul, enjoyment and exercise amidst wonderful trees, crystal clear mountain water, sunny alpine pastures and fragrant flower meadows in the 1st WALDNESS destination in Europe, in the Almtal in the Traunsee-Almtal region in the Salzkammergut.
Forest bathing (森林 浴 Shinrin-yoku), mostly translated as breathing in the healthy forest atmosphere during a forest walk, has been part of a good lifestyle in Japan for more than 20 years.
Staying in the forest, like aromatherapy, has a positive effect on our health on many levels: the immune system is strengthened, stress hormones are reduced and the quality of sleep improves.
WALDNESS® implements current Austrian and international studies on the healing power of the forest with experts and shows you many ways how you can best use the forest atmosphere for yourself and your health.

We strongly recommend that you travel to us by public transport in order to arrive relaxed and sustainable. E.g. by train (via Intercity and Westbahnknoten Wels) and the Almtalbahn to Grünau im Almtal! Train connections and ticket information at www.oebb.at

Hike with Kneipp to the mountain pasture with WALDNESS Coach Maria Hageneder.
For this short hike please wear sturdy shoes, depending on the weather also warm outdoor clothing, a small rucksack with at least a drink is necessary.

In the afternoon individual arrangements, e.g. a visit to the Cumberland Wildlife Park in Grünau im Almtal or a hike along the Almuferweg, as well as an excursion to the Hochberghaus with a hike on the Kasbergalmrunde. Both can also be experienced by public transport (and also the Traunstein Taxi).

In accordance with the Travel Agency Security Ordinance (RSV), customer monies for package tours offered by the tour operator Tourismusverband Traunsee-Almtal are secured under the following conditions: The down payment is made at the earliest eleven months before the agreed end of the trip and amounts to 20 percent of the travel price. The remaining payment is made at the earliest 20 days before the start of the trip - step by step against delivery of the travel documents to the traveler. Deposits or final payments made in excess of this or ahead of schedule may not be demanded. Deposits or remaining payments are only secured to the extent that the tour operator is entitled to receive them.
