The Hoftaverne is also the most traditional inn in Vorchdorf in the Almtal
A place not far from the Lake Traunsee town Gmunden, at the gate to the Salzkammergut and the Almtal area. In this region both customs and hospitality are lived and cultivated. Numerous regular tables and clubs of Vorchdorf, Gmunden, Ebensee and many other places in the Salzkammergut, keep the many traditions alive.
As a visitor to our inn you can experience these customs up close - for example, the "Glöcklerlauf", which takes place every year on the 5th of January in and around Vorchdorf, or at many events in Gmunden. In addition, you can also watch sporting events such as football, ski competitions or Formula 1 races on TV.

We recommend travelling by public transport!
By train: Numerous connections from Wels railway station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) or via Gmunden to the Salzkammergutbahn (line 170) in the direction of Bad Ischl, Hallstatt and Bad Aussee in the Salzkammergut. From Wels via Lambach station with the Vorchdorf railway (line 160), or from Gmunden with the Traunsee tram (line 161) from Stern & Hafferl Bahnen to Vorchdorf Eggenberg.
Approx. 8-10 minutes on foot from Vorchdorf railway station to Schlossplatz, approx. 5 minutes from the Vorchdorf Schule stop.
by bus: OÖVV bus routes 481 from Kirchdorf to Vorchdorf or 501 from Wels to Vorchdorf, bus stop Schlossplatz
by bike: The Hoftaverne Ziegelböck is easily accessible via Bahnhofstraße and Schlossplatz, cycle connection in the direction of Gmunden and R13 Traunviertler cycle path.
Salzkammergut shuttle service: Take route 70 from Scharnstein station via Pettenbach to the Vorchdorf station stop or route 80 from Hagenmühle or Almspitz to the Schlossplatz stop, call the taxi centre at least 1 hour in advance on 050-422 422 or order on the otaxi app.
By car: Westautobahn A1: From Vienna/Linz via the Voralpenkreuz or from Munich/Salzburg - exit A1 Vorchdorf - roundabout towards Vorchdorf centre, after the motorway overpass turn right towards Vorchdorf centre at Schlossplatz. Coming from Gmunden and the Salzkammergut either via the B120 from the Baumgarten roundabout on the L1306 Vorchdorfer Straße or via the B145 to Regau and on the A1 motorway to Vorchdorf. From the southern Almtal via Pettenbach and the L536 Pettenbacher Straße to Vorchdorf.
Parking directly at the house, further parking spaces in the town centre at the Schloßplatz short-stay parking zone, the nearest parking spaces "Schwarzelmüller Parkplatz", car park Pfarrheim, car park next to the event area of the Kitzmantelfabrik and at Vorchdorf railway station are all within walking distance!
