Mittereckerstüberl

Rustic mountain inn at the feet of "Totes Gebirge" with nice hiking meals.

The Mittereckerstüberl is situated in a wooded valley basin, surrounded by the Hochkogel, Grünberg, Ari- and Scharerkogel mountains. The idyllic walk to the hut follows the Schwarzenbach stream to begin with and is also well suited for children. You then follow the old alpine pasture and winter trail through the forest. Total walking time: approx. 1 hour. There is also a children’s playground.
Special feature: from mid-April to around mid-May, a remarkable and beautiful meltwater lake often forms near the hut!

The Mittereckerstüberl lies at the foot of the Totes Gebirge; from here, routes lead up to the Hochkogel and its hut, the two via ferratas on the Vorderen and Hinteren Rauhenkogel, to the Schönberg, or across to the Rinnerkogelhütte.

In autumn, the Mittereckerstüberl’s kitchen tempts guests with game specialities.
