The Gasselhütte is a popular meeting place for hikers and day trips. The impressive Gassel stalactite cave is often the destination of the trip, but the pleasant atmosphere, the welcome refreshments, the good food and the cosiness are all part of a stay at the Gasselhütte.

Hiking time: Ascent 2 3/4 hours, descent 2 1/2 hours.
Elevation difference: 803 m

A shuttle service is also available if booked in advance (+43 680 4446510), remaining walking time from the exit point approx. 30 minutes.

Opening hours

The hut "Gasselhütte" is opened: May 1st to September 15th on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.). The cave is closed on usual Fridays.

At the so called "Bridge days" (Friday 2nd May, 30th May and 20th June 2025) the cave and the hut are open too.
