The Open Science Center at the Konrad Lorenz Research Station Almtal is located on the grounds of the Cumberland Wildlife Park. Since September 2026, it has served as a new venue for research, education, and community engagement—open to anyone who wants not only to understand science but also to experience it firsthand.

By train: Take the Almtalbahn from Wels to the Grünau im Almtal station, then continue on bus line 534 to the stop near the Cumberland Wildlife Park.
By bus: Take bus line 533 from Gmunden to Grünau im Almtal, then continue on bus line 534.
Salzkammergut Shuttle: If bus line 534 is not running, you can use the Salzkammergut Shuttle: Route 60 (short route between Grünau im Almtal Station and Cumberland Wildpark). Simply book at least 1 hour before departure at www.salzkammergutshuttle.at or by calling +43 50 422 422.
By car: A1 exit: Vorchdorf → Pettenbach → Scharnstein → Grünau im Almtal → toward Almsee / Cumberland Wildpark
