KUNSTWERKSTATT GMUNDEN: A workshop for people with disabilities run by LEBENSHILFE OÖ
The Gmunden Art Workshop is a professionally equipped and supervised studio for independent artistic work by people with intellectual disabilities. Over the past 31 years, it has developed into a studio renowned far beyond the region’s borders. The studio, run by Lebenshilfe Upper Austria, was founded in 1992 under the direction of Ferdinand Reisenbichler.
The core group currently consists of eight full-time artists and one guest artist. Key areas of work include: collaborations with studios run by other social service providers, the development of design concepts for companies, and participation in numerous exhibitions.
The art workshop is open Monday to Thursday from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm and Friday from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm.
The studio collective looks forward to welcoming visitors at Georgstraße 20, 4810 Gmunden! We recommend booking an appointment, as we also hold external exhibitions.
The art workshop is currently run by the artist Petra Kodym.
Artworks can be viewed and purchased at the Gmunden Art Workshop. The works are also presented at exhibitions – for example, at ‘Die Galerie’ on Rinnholzplatz in Gmunden – and art fairs, such as the Linz Art Salon, as well as internationally through collaborations with other art institutions.
