"Putting on the bonnet" – a woman was only allowed to wear a gold bonnet after her wedding.

The traditional costume of the ‘gold bonnet ladies’ consists of a dress made from silk, brocade, woollen fabric or artificial silk. Along with the petticoat, we wear gloves, either fingerless or with fingers. In addition, we carry a pearl or fabric pouch, chosen to match the dress. Of course, the parasol, jewellery and a woollen shawl are also essential. A seasonal flower is always worn with the prayer book.
