How to get to the Almtal (to Scharnstein im Almtal):

We recommend that you travel by public transport!

by train:
From Wels train station with the Almtalbahn (line 153) in the direction of Grünau im Almtal to the Scharnstein-Mühldorf stop; Numerous connections from Wels train station to the main trains on the Westbahn route (line 101) in the direction of Linz, Vienna and Salzburg as well as Passau.

by bus:
OÖVV bus line 533 Gmunden - Scharntein - Grünau - Almsee; Scharnstein Ortsplatz stop

Micro public transports services:
With the Traunstein Taxi Route 52 from Laakirchen to the stop at Scharnstein-Mühldorf station or from Vorchdorf with the Traunstein Taxi Route 70, stop at Almbrücke. Please call the taxi center at least 1 hour in advance on 050-422 1691 or order on the otaxi app.

by car:
Westautobahn A1: Vienna - Voralpenkreuz-A9 - exit Ried/Tr. - Voitsdorf - Pettenbach - Scharnstein

West autobahn A1: Munich - Salzburg - Regau - Gmunden - Scharnstein
Parking in Scharnstein: Parking lot at the church square or behind Scharnstein Castle or after the Almbrücke, approx. 10 minutes on foot
