The Neue Mittelschule Altmünster is a public secondary school in Altmünster, Upper Austria (Marktstraße 29, 4813 Altmünster) and a central place of education for young people in grades 5 to 8. It attaches great importance to individual learning, social cooperation and the best possible development of each pupil - regardless of performance level or previous experience. Through modern pedagogical concepts, inclusive forms of learning and a wide range of activities, the NMS supports its pupils on their way to successful academic and personal development
The NMS Altmünster is characterized by a contemporary and individual learning concept that goes beyond traditional frontal teaching. The school works with open forms of learning that are based on Montessori pedagogy and do justice to the different development and performance levels of the young people. This approach promotes independent thinking, responsibility and a positive learning atmosphere without excessive pressure to perform.A special feature of the school is that traditional grades are not used until the 8th grade in order to focus more on skills, learning progress and personal growth. In addition, NMS Altmünster is increasingly focusing on mixed-grade learning, allowing older and younger pupils to benefit from each other. The integration of social projects, creative workshops and subject-related activities supports the holistic development of pupils in both cognitive and social areas. In addition to school content, this also includes community activities and events that strengthen togetherness.
The school sees itself as a place of encounter and support - equipped with modern learning spaces and a dedicated teaching staff who guide and support pupils individually. NMS Altmünster thus offers an educational environment in which young people feel comfortable and are prepared for secondary school or the transition to work in the best possible way.
As it is an educational institution, there are no opening hours for the public.
