Aloys-Wach-Museum

Lambach, Oberösterreich, Österreich

The Aloys Wach Museum is a small art museum and part of the ProDiagonal cultural and educational center in Lambach.

Aloys Wach was an Austrian Expressionist artist born in Lambach in 1892. He moved to Paris at a young age, where he met Amadeo Modigliani and many other leading artists of classical modernism, who greatly influenced him and helped him achieve great mastery. After World War I, he went through a long period of reorientation before turning to New Objectivity in the final decade of his life. In this style, however, he did not reach the level of his early Expressionist works. He died in Braunau in 1940.
