Christmas market in Pettenbach in the almtal valley

Biscuit awards, St Nicholas visit and Perchten run

On December 8, 2026, the annual Christmas market will take place again in Pettenbach.

Local clubs will be offering punch, mulled cider, and food : schnitzel and Leberkäse rolls, meat rolls cooked on a charcoal grill, raclette sandwiches, bratwurst, Bosner (also vegan), French fries, spiral-cut potatoes, rabbit soup, roasted chestnuts, farmer’s doughnuts, crêpes, as well as coffee and cake.

In the parish courtyard and the indoor spaces to the right and left, you’ll find traditional and lovingly crafted handmade items, such as woodturnings, ceramics, sewn items for children, candles, Christmas tree ornaments, nativity scenes, and much more—perfect for the Christmas season and as gifts.

New this year: There’s a photo spot in the courtyard for taking festive souvenir photos.

For the little ones, there’s a magical children’s craft room in the left wing of the parish house (parish office, 1st floor).

Various musical and dance performances will take place on stage, as well as the popular visit from St. Nicholas and the Perchten parade.

As usual, you can also visit the Christmas book exhibition on the ground floor, the wine tasting in the cellar, and a children’s play in the theater.
