Traunkirchen Mords' gschicht Carneval 2026

On Carnival Sunday, it's that time again: the Traunkirchen Mordsgschicht will be parading through Traunkirchen from 2 p.m. onwards, reciting the best stories of Traunkirchen in song form.
‘This year, too, there have been many funny mishaps. We have packaged them in song form in the tried and tested manner and will sing about our “specialists” on Carnival Sunday,’ says President Josef Harringer of the Mordsgschicht.
Some time ago, the Traunkirchen Mordsgschicht was added to UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage. It has been around for over a hundred years and delights the residents of Traunkirchen and the surrounding villages with its songs every year. This year, the Traunkirchen Mordsgschicht will be performed at six locations:

• 2 p.m., Poststube 1327
• 3 p.m., Café Johannsberg
• 4 p.m., Café Winkl
• 5.15 p.m., Multipurpose hall
• 6.30 p.m., Klosterstube
• 7.30 p.m., Gasthaus Gruber (Stube)
• 8.15 p.m., Gasthaus Gruber (Salettl)
