Sunday, 20 July 2025 - Vorchdorferbahn & Traunseetram

Lambach - Vorchdorf-Eggenberg local railway

- Three pairs of trains with the historic ET 24.101 (built in 1931)

Local railway Gmunden - Vorchdorf-Eggenberg

- Two shuttle trains on metre gauge between Vorchdorf-Eggenberg and Eisengattern

- Vehicle: ET 23.103, built in 1921

How to get to the nostalgia trips around Vorchdorf in the Traunsee-Almtal region:

We recommend travelling by public transport!

By train: via Attnang-Puchheim station to Gmunden station. Numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) or via Gmunden to the Salzkammergut railway in the direction of Bad Ischl, Hallstatt and Bad Aussee.

From Gmunden or Gmunden Engelhof railway station, take the Traunsee tram (line 161) operated by Stern & Hafferl to Vorchdorf-Eggenberg station.

From Wels to Lambach on the Westbahn line (line 101), connections to mainline trains to Linz, Vienna or Salzburg. From Lambach station on the Vorchdorf railway (line 160) to Vorchdorf-Eggenberg station.

By bike:

Vorchdorf Eggenberg railway station is also very easy to reach by bike.

From Gmunden along the Traunseetram to Vorchdorf, in Gmunden connection to the cycle routes:

Traunvierteltour, R4 Traunradweg and R2 Salzkammergutradweg.

A cycle connection leads from Lambach to Vorchdorf, in Lambach connection to the cycle connections:

R4 Traunradweg and R6 Römerradweg

By car:

Westautobahn A1 from Vienna/Linz or Salzburg - exit A1 Vorchdorf - Vorchdorf train station

Motorway A9 from Passau or Graz to Voralpenkreuz, A1 to Vorchdorf exit

Or by car to Gmunden Ost to the Engelhof P & R facility and from there continue with the Traunseetram.

Parking:

We recommend using the Engelhof car park in Gmunden.

In Vorchdorf there are a few parking spaces near the railway station and further parking spaces at the Kitzmantelfabrik event centre.

Please only use the designated car parks and show consideration for private property!
