Messiah – Sing-Along
George Frideric Handel

Don’t just listen to the music—become part of it yourself. This special concert format makes its debut at the Salzkammergut Festwochen Gmunden.

In the sing-along, the audience forms the choir and performs together with the Ensemble Neue Streicher and selected soloists. Following a joint rehearsal at 5:00 p.m. led by conductor Daniel Freistetter, George Frideric Handel’s Messiah will be performed in the atmospheric setting of the Kapuzinerkirche in Gmunden. Professional choir singers will support the individual vocal sections, providing additional confidence and musical guidance. The sing-along tradition originated in the English-speaking world and has been delighting people around the globe for many years. The focus is not on perfection, but on the joy of singing together and the unforgettable experience of being part of a grand choral sound.

Handel’s Messiah is one of the most famous oratorios in music history. Its rousing choruses in particular make the work an ideal foundation for a shared musical experience.

Whether you’re an experienced choir singer or an enthusiastic amateur musician—everyone is warmly invited to sing along and experience the power of this timeless music for themselves. But even those who simply wish to listen are welcome to enjoy the concert in this special atmosphere.

Join many other voices in singing Handel’s “Hallelujah” and become part of an extraordinary concert experience.
