By train:
From Wels Station, take the Almtalbahn (Line 153) toward Grünau im Almtal to the Viechtwang stop;
There are numerous connections from Wels Station to mainline trains on the Westbahn line (Line 101) to Linz/Vienna or Salzburg, and to Passau (Line 150)

From the stop, it’s about 900 meters to the inn. Cross the Almbrücke bridge, follow Bartwinkel Street to the small bridge over the Sagbach, cross the bridge, then turn left uphill and follow the signs for “Grüne Erde-Welt”; once you reach the main road, walk along the left side of the road for about 100 meters.

By bus:
OÖVV Bus Line 480 Kirchdorf/Kr. (- Schlierbach) – Pettenbach – Scharnstein – Viechtwang; Steinfelden stop (formerly Kastlwirt), directly in front of the building

By Salzkammerut Shuttle Service Route 70 from Vorchdorf or Scharnstein to the “Grüne Erde-Welt” stop; please call the taxi dispatch center at least 1 hour in advance at 050-422 422 to make a reservation. The stop is approximately 750 meters away.

Bike & Hike, Traveling by Bike:
Coming from Wels or Linz, take the R 11 Almtal Bike Trail via Pettenbach to Viechtwang. Or take the R 4 Traun Cycle Path or R 6 Roman Cycle Path, or come from Passau via Vöcklabruck and Schwanenstadt to Lambach, past the Lambach Traun Power Plant, and on to Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting in the direction of Vorchdorf Einsiedling. Continue along the bike path for a short stretch on the R 13 Traunviertler Bike Path to the R 11 Almtal Bike Path via Pettenbach to Viechtwang.
You can also take the bike route on the Traunviertel Tour from Gmunden via St. Konrad and Scharnstein to Viechtwang.
Pass the Viechtwang train station, cross the Almbrücke bridge, take Bartwinkel Street to the small bridge over the Sagbach, cross the bridge, then turn left uphill and follow the signs for “Grüne Erde-Welt”; once you reach the federal highway, walk along the roadside to the left for about 100 meters.

By car:
A1 West Highway: Vienna – Voralpenkreuz (A9) – Ried/Tr. exit – Voitsdorf – Pettenbach – take the B120 toward Scharnstein
Inntalautobahn A8: Passau – Wels – Voralpenkreuz A9 – Ried/Tr. exit – Voitsdorf – Pettenbach – take the B120 toward Scharnstein
A1 West Highway: Munich – Salzburg – Regau – take the B145 to Gmunden (also when coming from Bad Ischl) – take the B120 toward Scharnstein – continue toward Pettenbach

The inn is located directly on the B120 between Scharnstein and the turnoff to the Ziehberg Landesstraße.
