Lecture titled "Renewable" by Univ. Prof. Dr. Martin Grassberger

green event - free admission

We humans live in a world where ecological carrying capacities have been exceeded in many ways. Many things are changing more rapidly and profoundly than we ever thought possible.

Do we understand the forces driving these developments and how closely climate, ecosystems, and social processes are interconnected? Many people feel that a fundamental paradigm shift is necessary: away from the principle of exploitation, toward regeneration and the preservation of the natural foundations of life.

Nature shows us how life has emerged, unfolded, and continually renewed itself over billions of years. The processes and principles of life are based on self-organization, adaptability, and complex interactions—from the smallest cell to the vast ecosystems of our planet. We humans are part of this, too. Life arises and thrives within a network of interdependent relationships, in which everything is connected and influences one another. How must we shape our living spaces and ways of life so that a future can emerge in which both people and nature thrive equally?

In his lecture, bestselling author Martin Grassberger will show how a profound transformation of our values and our understanding of the world can help regenerate human health as well as society and the economy. The lecture at Gymnasium Gmunden is free of charge.

The event is sponsored by the Upper Austrian Climate Alliance and is being held as a Green Event.
