Sensory journey through forest, meadow and moor - NATURSCHAUSPIEL

Alluvial forests, the Wimbach stream and the fen invite you on an exciting journey of discovery. The therapeutic effects of this moor have been known since 1364! Our NATURSCHAUSPIEL guides lead you to the hidden treasures of flora and fauna at all times of the year and on different themes.

We start directly behind the OptimaMed health resort Bad Wimsbach .

On our left is the moorland, on the opposite side the forest. Right at the start, we experience the fascination of this special plant world, a wildness in nature that we rarely encounter today. Tinder fungus and tramete grow on dead trees and find ideal conditions here. The black alder only manages to live in wet soil thanks to an intimate relationship with certain bacteria.

This NATURSCHAUSPIEL event takes place in cooperation with WALDNESS and is a "taster" of the WALDNESS offers in the Traunsee-Almtal region!

WALDNESS ... what is it?
WALDNESS® is the application of Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) originating from the Almtal in the Traunsee-Almtal region in the Salzkammergut and is thus the first WALDNESS destination in Europe.
This special form of forest recreation includes activities guided by WALDNESS.coaches and stays in particularly suitable vegetation zones. Forest experiences, forest activities and targeted relaxation exercises alleviate stress symptoms preventively and improve inner balance and harmony.

What does Shinrin-yoku mean?
Forest bathing (Shinrin-yoku), usually translated as breathing in the healthy forest atmosphere during a walk in the forest, has been part of a healthy lifestyle in Japan for more than 20 years. Spending time in the forest has a positive effect on our health on many levels: the immune system is strengthened, stress hormones are reduced and the quality of sleep improves.
In cooperation with the Optimamed health resort Bad Wimsbach , you can experience exclusive WALDNESS in the nature reserve in the moorland forest around the Moorbad. Look forward to an enjoyable time in the forest!
