Path of mindfulness - spiritual hiking for small groups

Grünau im Almtal, Oberösterreich, Österreich

Let's get on a walk

The path of mindfulness

A path that makes mindfulness with oneself and the environment tangible through consciously experiencing nature & spiritual impulses.

The longing to take a break from everyday life leads us down a path that brings us closer to nature—and to ourselves. The Path of Mindfulness winds through the gentle yet wild heart of Upper Austria on a 96-kilometer loop. Five stages await participants, taking them from the mountaineering village of Grünau in the Almtal to the Brunnental, Steyrtal, and Kremstal.

On the trails along the crystal-clear Alm and Steyr rivers, you’ll find yourself in the flow of walking and be moved by the mountain world. As you wander at a leisurely pace through the forests and meadows of the Kremstal, you’ll have time to turn inward. You’ll encounter places of power, spiritual sites, heavenly views, and moments that gradually deepen your mindfulness.

Plan your next group vacation with this offer, featuring a guided spiritual hike led by Sabina Haslinger.

On the first day, you’ll arrive at the House of Mindfulness in Grünau im Almtal. On the second day, the first leg of the hike takes you from the House of Mindfulness to the Almtalerhaus in the mountaineering village of Grünau im Almtal. The next day, the trail continues into the Brunnental valley to Steyrling and on to Klaus, where we’ll spend the night at Schloss Klaus. From there, the tour continues to Schlierbach and the SPES Hotel. The penultimate stage then takes us over the Magdalenaberg to Viechtwang, and up to GOMDE—the International Buddhist Center in Scharnstein. The final stage brings us back to Grünau im Almtal.

Note on Trail Conditions

Dear Guests!

About 40% of the route follows paved farm roads and low-traffic side roads; the remaining sections follow forest and meadow trails as well as gravel roads.

The paved sections connect the individual partner businesses and offer beautiful views of the landscape along the way. If you’re looking for a hiking trail that runs exclusively on natural paths, please keep this in mind when planning your trip.
