Family business in 4th generation
WE HAVE BEEN BAKING SINCE 1924
Pastry magic, pastry and bakery craft in the Almtal valley
From the apple strudel to the plum stain, it is not the size of the pastry that matters, but its quality!
At Mittermaier we preserve the tradition of the highly developed Austrian pastry culture, but we also want to further develop it and interpret it in a contemporary way. In addition to traditional recipes from all over Austria, new, modern creations are on show. But whether traditional or new: In all our pastries classic confectionery, valuable ingredients and the highest quality combine to create an incomparable gourmet experience!
Handmade pralines from our confectionery are the most beautiful form of sweet temptation.
Poured, kneaded, rolled, stuffed, coated, decorated with fruit or nuts, rolled in grated coconut or dipped in chocolate: Pralines are considered to be the supreme discipline of sugar confectionery due to their elaborate craftsmanship!
Hearty, tasty and sensually scented - fresh every day from our bakery.
In our bakery, the traditional bakery is still maintained. We are at work every day from midnight, so you can choose from around ten different varieties of fresh bread and pastries each morning.
This "fabulous" confectionery is a sweet treat and the hallmark of our house.
Other pastry shops are famous for their Mozartkugel, Sachertorten or Zaunerstollen, we for our "Almtaler"! Invented in 1996 by our senior chef Kurt Mittermaier, this biscuit-like confectionery with the finest hazelnut cream and delicately melting couverture is a sweet treat, a symbol of classic confectionery and the trademark of our company.
Just as traditional as the passing on of the bakery and confectionery trade is in our family business the excellent quality of the pastries, bread and pastries: this is ensured by carefully selected, high-quality raw materials and ingredients. Wherever possible, these come from regional and organic sources: milk, butter and whipped cream from Gmunden, flour from Vöcklabruck, organic eggs from Schlierbach, meat and sausages from the Almtal.
Due to staff shortages, we will unfortunately only be able to serve you in the KAFFEEHAUS FROM THURSDAY TO SUNDAY from July.
Our shop is still open for you as usual:
