For the fourth time, Austrian basket weavers are gathering to weave together and exchange ideas.

This time, the market will take place in the beautiful Salzkammergut region, specifically at the Kitzmantelfabrik in Vorchdorf.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 22, and Sunday, May 23, 2027

Here’s how to get to the Kitzmantelfabrik in Vorchdorf in the Salzkammergut:

We recommend traveling by public transportation!
By train:
Take the train from Wels Station to Lambach Station, then take the Vorchdorferbahn (Line 160), or from Gmunden, take the Traunseetram (Line 161) operated by Stern & Hafferl Bahnen to Vorchdorf Eggenberg.
There are numerous connections from Wels Station to the mainline trains on the Westbahn line (Line 101) to Linz/Vienna or Salzburg, or to Passau (Line 150), or via Gmunden to the Salzkammergutbahn (Line 170) toward Bad Ischl, Hallstatt, and Bad Aussee.
The Kitzmantelfabrik is located right next to the train station.

Local transportation:
Take the Salzkammergut Shuttle Service Route 70 from Scharnstein Station via Pettenbach to the Vorchdorf Station stop, or from Almspitz on Route 80; please call the taxi dispatch center at least 1 hour in advance at 050-422 422 to make a reservation.
Also well-suited as a shuttle to or from your accommodations in Vorchdorf and the surrounding area.

Traveling by bike:
Coming from Wels or Linz, take the R 4 Traun Cycle Path or R6 Roman Cycle Path; or from Gmunden via the R 4 Traun Cycle Path; or from Passau via Vöcklabruck and Schwanenstadt on the R 6 Roman Cycle Path to Lambach, past the Lambach Traun Power Plant, and then via Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting to Vorchdorf.
You can also take the bike route from the R 11 Almtal Bike Trail from Almsee via Pettenbach, briefly on the R 13 Traunviertel Bike Trail to Einsiedlung, and then on to Vorchdorf.
From Gmunden via Gschwandt to Kirchham; from Laakirchen on the R 13 Traunviertel Cycle Route to Kirchham, then along the Traunsee Tram toward Vorchdorf.
Access to the Kitzmantel factory directly from Bahnhofstraße; bike parking available.

By car:
On the A1 West Autobahn: coming from Vienna or Salzburg, or from Passau or Graz via the Voralpenkreuz-A1 interchange—take the A1 exit for Vorchdorf
From Bad Ischl on the B145 to Gmunden, take the B120 eastern bypass to the Baumgarten/Gschwandt roundabout, then continue on the Vorchdorfer Landesstraße to Vorchdorf.

Parking is available at
, right next to the Kitzmantelfabrik event venue, and a few minutes’ walk away at the Schwarzlmüller parking lot.
